Sharon E. Brunelle, 63, of HudsonHudson – Sharon E. (Houde) Brunelle, of Hudson, formerly of Marlborough, passed away peacefully at home on her 63rd birthday Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2017, surrounded by her loving family, after her fourth courageous battle with cancer. She leaves behind her beloved husband of 18 years, Cregg E. Brunelle.

Sharon was born and raised in Marlborough, one of eight children of the late Severe and Norma (Sherman) Houde. After graduating high school, Sharon remained in the area, eventually moving to Hudson in 1983, while raising her family. She eventually married the love of her life, Cregg Brunelle, on Aug. 21, 1999 and together they shared many years of love and happiness.

She worked as a dietician at the Willows of Westborough for many years until she eventually retired.

Sharon was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Hudson, as well as a Sergeant of Arms with the Women’s Auxiliary at the Hudson Amvets Post 208. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who dedicated most of her life to raising and caring for her family, whom she adored more than anything else in the world. Sharon was an inspiration to all that knew her as she fought for her life to the very end against her cancer.

In addition to her husband, Cregg, she is also survived by her five children, Ronald Melvin Jr. and his fiancé, Alyssa Costlow, of Florida, Jason Melvin Sr. of Hudson, Susan Melvin of Hudson, Brandi Zompetti and her husband, Michael, of Hudson, and Calvin Melvin and his wife, Bethany, of Lakeville; two step-children, Cregg Brunelle Jr. and his wife, Charity, of New Hampshire and Timothy Brunelle and his wife, Kelly, of New Hampshire; her siblings, Leslie Porter, Norma Houde, Arline Bennett, Bobby Houde and James Houde; 15 grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was also predeceased by her stepson, Kenneth Brunelle; her brother, Armond Houde; and her sister, Donna Houde.

Calling hours will be held Sunday, Nov. 5, from 2-5 p.m., at TIGHE HAMILTON REGIONAL FUNERAL HOME, 50 Central St., Hudson. A Celebration of her life will be held Monday, Nov. 6, at 10 a.m., at Grace Baptist Church, 353 River Rd., Hudson. Burial will be private at a later time.
