Pedestrian killed in hit & run crash in Shrewsbury

Shrewsbury – The Shrewsbury Police Department is reporting on a hit & run crash that killed a Shrewsbury woman:

On Monday, November 6th, 2017 at 4:56 p.m. the Shrewsbury Police were dispatched to Municipal Drive at Grafton St. (Rte.140) for a crash involving a motor vehicle and a pedestrian. Upon arrival it was determined that the vehicle had left the scene of the crash. The victim was treated at the scene by Shrewsbury Police and Fire Department along with U-Mass Paramedics. The victim was transported to U-Mass Medical Center on Lake Ave where she was pronounced dead. The victim is identified as Alma Cico, 59 years of age, of Shrewsbury, Ma. Shrewsbury Police searched the area but did not find the vehicle in question.

Shrewsbury Police Crash Reconstructionist Sgt. Michael O’Connor and Officer Ryan Chartrand in conjunction with the Office of Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr. and the Massachusetts State Police are investigating the crash. The investigators have determined the victim was crossing Municipal Drive on foot when she was struck by the motor vehicle. The suspect vehicle continued from Municipal Drive onto Route 140 Southbound. The description of the suspect vehicle is a light gray/silver pick-up truck with an extended cab or 4 door and black rims. The suspect vehicle was also reported to have a dent in the upper right hand side of the tailgate.
