Edward J. Hasbrouck, 87, of SouthboroughSouthborough – Edward J. Hasbrouck, 87, of Southborough, passed away peacefully at Beaumont in Westborough Monday, Nov. 20, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Margaret (Powers) Hasbrouck for over 55 years.

Born in Rahway, N.J., he was the son of the late Gertrude (Mahoney) and Albert Hasbrouck, and was a graduate of Rahway High School. Ed attended M.I.T. for a while; however, he graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with high honors and was inducted into the Tau beta Pi and Chi Epsilon honor societies. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving from 1951 to 1954.

Ed joined the Perini Corporation in 1956 and was an original member of the “Hard Hat College.”  In 1984, he went to work for Beacon Construction Corporation as a foundation expert and consulted on such projects as Rowe’s Wharf; 75 State Street; Post Office Square Park and Garage, as well as Clinical Center at Beth Israel Hospital.

In addition to his wife, he leaves his children, Mark Hasbrouck and his wife, Andrea, of Hopkinton, Jill H. Gibbons of Marlborough, and Peter Hasbrouck of Southborough, and his grandchildren, Lindsay and Ryan Gibbons and Amanda and Alexis Hasbrouck.  Ed was predeceased by his brothers, Albert and William.

Visiting hours will be held Sunday, Nov. 26, from 2-5 p.m., at the Morris Funeral Home, 40 Main St., Southborough. A funeral Mass will be held Monday, Nov. 27, at 10 a.m., at St. Anne Church, 20 Boston Rd., Southborough. Burial will follow in the Southborough Rural Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent in Ed’s name to St. Anne Church or the Southborough Ambulance Fund, 21 Main St., Southborough, MA 01772.
