Shrewsbury – Employees of Shrewsbury’s newly opened UniBank branch delivered sandwiches, salads and sodas to the town’s Police and Fire departments Nov. 17, as part of the bank’s “Random Acts of Kindness Week.”
Matthew Armenti, relationship branch manager, and his colleague Ken Mudzingwa delivered the lunch from Napoli Deli on South Quinsigamond Avenue in Shrewsbury to the departments.
“This is our last stop here at the Police and the Fire departments,” Armenti said. “This week we have brought lunch to the Senior Center; we’ve served coffee over at The Bean Counter Café; we’ve also given out gift cards at Starbucks; and I brought over a gift basket to Coolidge School. It’s just our way of giving back. The bank does this for each of its branches every year.”
“I’d like to give a great thanks to UniBank for supplying us with this wonderful lunch today and it’s so nice that people think of us in today’s day and age,” said Police Sergeant Alfred Pratt.
“It’s very unexpected. We are very thankful for the members of the community that come in and show acts of kindness like this, it means a lot,” added. Fire Captain Frank Ludovico.
