Vote scheduled for Grafton library expansion

April 24th, 2017

Grafton – Ten thousand of Grafton’s residents hold library cards, according to Beth Gallaway, who has been the Grafton Public Library Director since 2013.

“Our 7,400 square foot library was built in 1927 when the town had 6,000 residents,” she said. “Now with 18,000, we are bursting at the seams.”

For the third time, the Grafton Library Planning and Building Committee is attempting to gain approval for an expansion. Joining many other libraries in Massachusetts that have gone through this process, a grant application has been submitted for partial state funding through the Mass. But coming so tantalizingly close to going the distance has left an after-taste that has this team electrified, hungry and looking for more, said ninth-year head coach Alan Rotatori, who previously held the same role for Newton South High School for 19 years.
