Water levels dip at Sandra Pond

Westborough – The water level indicator on the side of the Gatehouse shows a drop of 4 ½ feet below normal in the Upper Reservoir at Sandra Pond July 23. According to Dennis Cote, operations manager at the Department of Public Works, the Westborough Reservoir holds approximately 76 million gallons of water at this reading, roughly half of the estimated 155 million gallons when full.

Little League All-Stars raise money for Jimmy Fund

Westborough – Light rain did not dampen the spirits of dozens of families who turned out July 25 for a Home Run Derby and Family Field Day at the Target Little League Fields. The event, sponsored by the Westborough Little League 10-Year-Old All- Star team, was held from 4 to 7 p.m. to raise money for the Jimmy Fund and Dana Farber Cancer Institute.

Youths go on a housing mission

Westborough - For the fifth consecutive year, 10th overall, the Senior High Youth Group of the Evangelical Congregational Church of Westborough spent a week outside Massachusetts traveling to Cornwall, Ontario, to fix up houses, the Boys & Girls Club of Cornwall and the Big Brother/ Big Sister offices. Thi s year’ s trip took the group 400 miles from their hometown.
