Ashland: Doc Film & Discussion Series presents “Dietary Fiber-The Most Important Nutrient”

Ashland – The Ashland Documentary Film & Discussion Series will the present a talk on “Dietary Fiber-The Most Important Nutrient” Tuesday, March 25, from 7 – 9 p.m., in the Ashland Library's Community Room, 66 Front St. Admission is free and viewers are invited to stay for discussion. The Documentary Film & Discussion Series is sponsored by the Friends of the Ashland Library.

In this talk at UCSF, Katie Ferraro, Registered Dietitian, Certified Diabetes Educator, and an assistant clinical professor of nutrition, covers the who, what, why and how of fiber. Ferraro discusses current science on fiber. She also discusses what is known about fiber's role in improving gut health and weight management and reducing risk of cardiovascular disease, cancer, and diabetes.

The Documentary Film & Discussion Series meets every 2nd Thursday and 4th Tuesday of the month for an in-depth look at important topics of our day.
