Clinton: Museum of Russian Icons hosts Alexander Gassel exhibit« Back to Events
Clinton – The Museum of Russian Icons will be hosting an exhibit: Alexander Gassel: Rediscovering the Past, Exhibition of Paintings from now until Sat., Oct. 5. Based on traditional Russian artistic values, Gassel’s new paintings often engage a surrealistic combination of details from different civilizations. Ancient symbols are joined with contemporary subjects and reflect his evolving experience of life in America.
The museum will also be hosting a lecture and book Signing: Russia, the Land and Its Food with Darra Goldstein, on Thursday, Sept. 26, 6 p.m.
Goldstein is Willcox and Harriet Adsit Professor of Russian at Williams College and founding editor of Gastronomica: The Journal of Food and Culture. She is the author of four cookbooks and is the food editor of Russian Life Magazine. Her book, “A Taste of Russia: A Cookbook of Russian Hospitality” was recently updated and re-released for its 30th anniversary.
