Nov. 9, Mal Allard, LPN and owner of “Their Real World,” will speak at Golden Pond Assisted Living, 50 West Main St., Hopkinton, as a continuation of its Saturday Morning Lecture Series. This month’s topic is When Challenging Behaviors Challenge You! Help is Here! Successful Interventions and the Reasons Why!”

Breakfast will be provided and the session will run from 9 – 11 a.m. in the Golden Pond Activities Room.

Mal Allard is an expert in working and care partnering with people who have dementia. She will address such issues as how taking care of an individual’s immediate need can produce a decrease in unusual behaviors. She will give tips on how to redirect people with dementia as the behaviors are occurring. She will also talk about prevention, validating feelings, environmental awareness, and finding the humor in everyday situations.

A Free Nursing Contact Hour (CEU) will be available and everyone will receive a certificate of attendance.

The talk is free and open to all.  If you have any questions, call 508-435-1250.
