Hudson: Parent/Child Civil Rights presentation

Hudson – Northborough/Southborough and Hudson Special Education PACs invite you to a free presentation on Parent/Child Civil Rights Thursday, March 20, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., in the Hudson Town Hall auditorium, 78 Main St., Hudson.

The Office for Civil Rights (OCR) will present an overview of the federal civil rights laws that prohibit discrimination on the basis of race, color, nation origin, sex, disability, and age by any program or activity receiving federal financial assistance; the responsibilities and role of OCR; how to file a complaint when you experience or witness discrimination; and how due process under IDEA and OCR complaints vary.

NSPAC is an advisory committee of the School Committee charged with the responsibility to advise and participate in the planning, development, and evaluation of the school committee's special education programming.
