March 9, from 2 to 3 p.m., join Kevin O’Hara as he presents “The Last of the Donkey Pilgrims” at Hudson Public Library, 3 Washington St. In 1979, despite being married to a lovely woman – Belita Suarez of the Philippines – Kevin cautiously asked her one evening if he could take a walk, “a long walk, no longer than a year in length.” Amazingly, Belita didn’t give him the boot – but the green light – and a grateful Kevin journeyed to Ireland, bought himself a young mare donkey named Missie, and the toothsome pair beat all odds by traversing 1,720 miles of the Irish coast, North and South, in eight months’ time. Join the library to learn about this amazing journey. Call 978-568-9644 or visit www.hudsonpubliclibrary.com to find out more.
