Marlborough: Special Olympics race offers fun break in the workday

Marlborough – Special Olympics Massachusetts, a leader in providing healthy lifestyles through year-round sports for individuals with intellectual disabilities, will host a 5K road race at the Yawkey Sports Training Center, 512 Forest St., Friday, Sept. 13, at noon.

The public is invited to join fellow runners from around the Marlborough area for a fun break in the workday to help benefit the athletes of Special Olympics.

Sign in for runners/walkers will be at 12 p.m. The race will start at 12:30 p.m. and finish before 2 p.m. Participants who sign up will receive a t-shirt and a chance to win prizes. Awards will be given to the top female and male runners. All runners will be given bib numbers and the event will be timed.
