MARLBOROUGH – Vintage cars lined Marlborough’s Main Street on Sunday, stretching from the intersection of Main Street and Bolton Street west to the intersection of Main Street and Granger Boulevard.

It was all part of the city’s Main Street Car Show, which made its return this year after two years of COVID-19 pandemic cancellations.

“It feels good,” United Brethren Masonic Lodge member Alan Archibald told the Community Advocate last month ahead of the 2022 car show.

The Lodge has organized the car show since its first running in 2009 as a celebration of the Lodge’s 150th anniversary.

A now beloved summer tradition, the prospect of the car show’s return brought positive reactions from local individuals and businesses, Archibald said.

This year’s event was open to owners of cars older than 1990. It packed Main Street with entrants, drawing healthy crowds to Marlborough’s downtown area.

Twenty-dollar registration fees will, in turn, now benefit Shriners Hospitals, the Marlborough Community Cupboard and the Wounded Warrior Project.
