Northborough: Scouts annual food drive Nov. 2

November 2, 2013

Northborough – On Saturday Nov. 2, as part of Northborough's Annual Scouting for Food drive, Boy Scouts, Venture Scouts, Girl Scouts, and Cub Scouts will be collecting food items to benefit the Northborough Food Pantry. Last year, over 11,000 pieces of food were donated.

Making a donation is simple.? Just fill a bag (or more) with contributions of food, personal care items, and/or paper products. Leave any filled bags or boxes by your front door or next to your mailbox by 9 a.m., when Scouts will come and pick them up.

This year, the Scouts will not be distributing bags the week prior to the pickup, rather a door hanger with a simple reminder will be left at each residence. If you forget to set your food out, you can bring it to the United Bank, 6 Church St., located behind CVS. Scouts will be collecting the food at the Bank until 12 p.m.

Please be sure to check expiration dates on food items, as the Food Pantry cannot distribute expired food.
