Shrewsbury: Arts on the Green presents Russian Piano Trio concert« Back to Events
Shrewsbury – Postponed from Feb. 15, the Arts on the Green at First Congregational Church will present a Russian Piano Trio concert Saturday, Feb. 22, at 7 p.m.
Two graduates of the famed St. Petersburg Conservatory in Russia, Russian violinist Yulia Zhuravleva and Korean cellist Seong-Heui Jeon join with Worcester pianist Malcolm Halliday to present a concert of glorious chamber music featuring Peter Tchaikovsky’s monumental Trio in A minor, op. 50 and the Trio “Élégiaque” in G minor, composed as an homage to Tchaikovsky by his younger admirer, Sergei Rachmaninov.
The concert takes place in Gifford Hall at First Congregational Church of Shrewsbury, 19 Church Rd. Admission is free, with donations gladly accepted. Suggested amount is $10 for adults and $5 for children and students.
Arts on the Green concerts are supported in part by a grant from the Shrewsbury Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
