April 7 marks the beginning of this year’s Big Read project at the Shrewsbury Public Library, 609 Main St. The classic film, “The Adventures of Mark Twain,” starring Frederic Marsh as Twain and Alexis Smith as his wife, Livy, will be presented at 2 p.m. The film is somewhat of a biography of Twain, as he and his wife live many of the episodes that appear in his books, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and its sequel, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. Free and open to all. Details are available at www.shrewsbury-ma.gov/library or by calling 508-842-0081.
