Shrewsbury: Foam and textiles recycling event« Back to Events
A foam and textiles recycling event will be held Jan. 13, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Oak Middle School (front parking lot), 45 Oak St., Shrewsbury. Open to the general public, the cost is $1 per bag or $5 per carload for foam, and no charge for textiles. Please remove all tape, paper, etc. from foam, and food and drink containers must be clean and free of food. Accepted foam (any foam that has the recycling symbol 6 in the triangle with PS underneath it) includes: packing blocks, hot cups (Dunkin Donuts, etc.), packing peanuts (must snap & must not disintegrate when in water), foam egg cartons, produce and meat trays with the recycle symbol in the triangle (biodegradable trays do not have a recycle symbol), trays, take-out containers (please rinse), and white insulation sheets. Acceptable textiles: stuffed animals, blankets, pillows, shoes (even just ½ a pair), belts, purses, clothes and curtains will be sent to Bag2School. Money earned from the textiles will be donated to non-profit, Shrewsbury Youth and Family Services (SYFS).
