Shrewsbury – The Shrewsbury Trails Committee is sponsoring a naturalist-guided walk Thursday, Oct. 17, from 7:30 – 8:30 p.m. in Prospect Park. All are invited to discover or rediscover this wooded and historic town park right in the middle of Shrewsbury on a moonlit night. The group will set out from the park entrance on Prospect Street not far from the intersection of Boylston Street. Parking is available at the Mt. Olivet Church, 34 Prospect St., a short walk from the park.

Martha Gach, Shrewsbury resident and Mass Audubon Naturalist, will lead the walk, which will take participants to the top of the park and back on paved and mulched paths.

Rain date is Friday, Oct. 18. For more information call Melanie Magee, committee member, at 508-842-2468 or email the committee at Trails01545@gmail.com.

The Shrewsbury Trails Committee’s mission is to help preserve, promote, protect, connect and expand Shrewsbury’s trail system for the purpose of recreational enjoyment, outdoor exercise, and an appreciation of the natural environment. The committee meets regularly at Town Hall, generally the second Wednesday of the month. Anyone interested in learning more about the committee’s efforts are welcome to attend. Email the committee for dates or contact Chair Bob Shaw at rshaw@townisp.com.
