Shrewsbury: Hope and Healing Service« Back to Events
Wellspring United Methodist Church has announced a Hope and Healing Service, “When There Is Nothing To Be Thankful For,” will be held Nov. 9 in Lawrence Hall at Trinity Episcopal Church, 440 Main St., Shrewsbury. A free meal will be offered at 6 p.m., with worship starting at 7 p.m.
People in the United States celebrate Thanksgiving with great festivity, wonderful food and fellowship with family and friends. However, for some people, this season is not one of joy but truly a painful season: loneliness, losses, financial difficulties, and much more. This pain can seem all more intense during this season of Thanksgiving. Wellspring’s Hope and Healing service is designed to help people refocus and experience God’s presence even when life itself seems overwhelming.
The Hope and Healing services are geared to be very low-key. They are meant to be a place to find hope and rest, a place to let down, a place to be honest with God and tell him what you need. Worship is informational. There will be no collection.
