Shrewsbury: Library hosts Abbey's House founder

November 13, 2012

Nov. 13, Annette Rafferty, who founded Abby's House in Worcester 35 years ago, will be speaking about her experience at the Shrewsbury Public Library, 609 Main St., at 7 p.m. Abby's House is a non-profit home for battered women and their children. Ten years ago, Rafferty wrote a history of the first 25 years of Abby's House. Now she's written a new memoir, detailing the past decade: “Still Wearing Smooth the Path: 10 More Years at Abby's House.” Join in to salute this untiring woman for the work she has done to shelter women and children victims of domestic abuse. Copies of her new book will be available for sale, with all proceeds going to support Abby's House. For more information, call 508-841-8531.
