Shrewsbury: Library presents French Canadian genealogy class

Oct. 10, at 7 p.m., there will be an introductory class on French Canadian genealogy at the Shrewsbury Public Library, 609 Main St. The workshop leader is George C. Brown, Assistant Director and Head of Adult Services at the Library.

The class will include basic sources, peculiarities, tips and shortcuts to help participants get started uncovering their north-of-the-border family history. Both Quebec and Acadian ancestry sources will be discussed. There will be helpful handouts, ample time for questions, and light refreshments.

This introductory class is free and open to anyone looking for help researching French Canadian genealogy. Registration is required, either online (www.shrewsbury-ma.gov/library) or by calling 508-841-8531.
