Shrewsbury: Tag sale to benefit women's shelter

June 14, 2014 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

Shrewsbury – ADVISE (Against Domestic Violence in Shrewsbury Education) will hold its annual tag sale at First Congregational Church, 19 Church Rd., Saturday, June 14, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The organization is seeking gently used household items, holiday decorations, sports equipment, dishes, children's clothing, toys and linens for the sale.

ADVISE is a Shrewsbury volunteer agency that began in 1990 to empower the community and individuals to recognize the problem of domestic violence, and to break the cycle of domestic violence through education, intervention and support.

ADVISE's current project is to continue to redecorate and provide needed assistance to the Daybreak shelter for women and children who are victims of domestic violence. ADVISE is purchasing badly needed items, including new blinds, draperies, lamps, bedspreads, and small furniture and appliances, using proceeds from the tag sale.

For information about the location and dates for dropping off donations, call Janet Trippi at 508-845-9586 or Joanne Tyndall at 508-845 2211.
