Shrewsbury: Wellspring United Methodist Church to hold “Worship In Pink” hope and healing service
October 12, 2013
Shrewsbury – Wellspring United Methodist Church will be holding a “Worship In Pink” hope and healing service Saturday, Oct. 12 at the Trinity Episcopal Church, 440 Main St.? A free soup and bread meal will be served at 6 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall with the service then starting at 7 p.m. in Lawrence Hall.
A few years ago, the Susan G. Komen organization launched a “Worship in Pink” program to invite everyone to join in the fight to end breast cancer. “Worship in Pink” is a grassroots effort with local synagogues, churches, and mosques nationwide to educate their respective members on breast health and breast cancer.
Wellspring United Methodist Church will be hosting its own Worship in Pink Hope and Healing service, or an even wider “A Splash of Colors in Ribbons” service. Cancer affects millions of people worldwide and does not only include breast cancer (pink ribbon) but also pancreatic cancer (purple), lung cancer (clear), ovarian cancer (teal), brain cancer (grey), prostate cancer (light blue), bladder cancer (yellow), childhood cancer (gold), leukemia (orange), colon cancer (royal blue), melanoma (black), kidney cancer (green), liver cancer (emerald green), lymphoma (lime), general cancer awareness (lavender) and more.
During the service, survivors, patients, family and friends will testify of the power of God in their lives throughout treatment, recovery or while waiting to go home to Jesus. A well-known local harpist will play during worship.
All donations will go to the American Cancer Society, Susan G. Komen or any cancer organizations of the attendee's choice.
All are invited for this vibrant non-denominational service featuring praise music, prayer, teaching, testimony, and the power of God.
Wellspring United Methodist Church is a growing community of faith serving Shrewsbury, Northborough and the surrounding area.?
