Southborough – The Southborough Green Technology and Recycling Committee will hold an informal gathering of Southborough residents concerned with the continued increase of greenhouse gas levels in the atmosphere and the potential impact to global warming, climate change and economic stability.

The event will take place Tuesday, Sept 17, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Southborough Public Library, 25 Main St.

Participants will have the opportunity to meet other residents in the community with similar concerns. The goal is to form a network of individuals and organizations in Southborough who are concerned about the issues of greenhouse gas emissions.

The current level of Carbon Dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere is 400 parts per million. Pre-Industrial Revolution levels were near 250 parts per million. Recent measurements indicate CO2 levels are rising at two parts per million per year.

Committee Chair Carl Guyer will make a short presentation summarizing recent data on greenhouse gas emissions and associated environmental impact.
