Westborough: Blood drive honors local teens

July 31, 2013

A special American Red Cross blood drive will be held July 31, 2 to 8 p.m., at the Westborough Senior Center, 4 Rogers Rd., in honor of a Westborough brother and sister, 16-year-old Alec and 14-year-old Allissa Rastad. Both brother and sister have Primary Immune Deficiency Disease and need blood on a regular basis. Appointments are preferred, but walk-in donors are also welcome.? Donors will receive a Turkey Hill coupon for $2.50 off a carton of ice cream. The Red Cross requires a positive ID before donating.? You must be at least 17 years old (16 years with a signed parental consent form). You can donate blood every 56 days. Call 800-733-2767 or visit www.redcrossblood.org to schedule an appointment.
