Westborough: Maundy Thursday at FUMC

March 28, First United Methodist Church, 120 West Main in Westborough, will observe Maundy Thursday  at 7 p.m., with a free Communion to commemorate the Last Supper.  You will be lead through the Garden of Gethsemane, the betrayal by Judas, Peter’s denial, the judgment of Herod, Pilate, the crowd, the crucifixion, to the death of Christ. The chancel area will be sequentially emptied (trees, candlesticks, the Bible, even the altar cloth and the lectern colors).  The Christ Candle will be carried out, symbolizing the death of Christ.  Those attending will leave “in the shadows” in silence.
