Westborough: Statewide candidates to address Westborough Democratic Committee« Back to Events
Westborough – Juliette Kayyem, candidate for governor, and State Representative Harold “Hank” Naughton Jr. (D-Clinton), candidate for attorney general, will address area residents Tuesday, Nov. 19, at 7 p.m. at Tatnuck Booksellers, 18 Lyman St. This event, sponsored by the Westborough Democratic Town Committee, is open to anyone interested in learning more about these candidates.
Kayyem has served in both the Deval Patrick and Barack Obama administrations in the Homeland Security areas. She is one of five candidates for the Democratic nomination for governor.
Naughton currently serves as House chair of the Committee on Public Safety and Homeland Security. He is one of two candidates for attorney general.
“It’s really energizing for people to meet candidates face-to-face. Hearing the candidates live, asking them questions, and speaking with candidates informally after the presentations allows us to be more informed voters,” commented Kate Donaghue, chair of the Westborough Democratic Town Committee. “This is the third event in our series of meetings with candidates for statewide office. People have really enjoyed the chance to interact with the candidates and to get to know them.”
Attendees will also have the opportunity to sign petition papers on various ballot initiatives including raising the minimum wage.
The Westborough Democratic Town Committee is the local organization of the Democratic Party. For more information, contact Kate Donaghue at 508-404-8531 or KateDonaghue@aol.com.
