Hudson Elks to host annual balloon rally
      Hudson - Hot-air balloons will fill the Metrowest skies once again Saturday Aug. 11 during the Third Annual Hudson Elks Balloon Rally. Nearly a dozens balloons will be on hand for an early morning ascension at 6 a.m. from the Elks Pavilion on Park Street in Hudson. An afternoon ascension plus tethered rides are planned, as well as a balloon glow. Starting at 2 p.m.

     Hudson - Quintessential Brass Quintet bass trombone and tuba player Leslie Havens, from Marlborough, entertains the crowd at Hudson's Wood Park on a pleasant summer evening July 25. The quintet had just returned from a European tour with Paul Anka.

Children's book illustrator visits for 'One Book, One Hudson'

      Hudson - The Hudson Public Library hosted a visit July 25 by illustrator Scott Nash. Nash's work includes illustrations for countless television animation projects, several children's books, and a book series that includes "The Bugliest Bug" and "Flat Stanley.
