Selectmen re-advertise sale of Edgemere Diner

      Shrewsbury - In an eff ort to locate a buyer for the Edgemere Diner and a tenant for the 20,000-square-foot lot it's located on at 51 Hartford Turnpike (Route 20), the Board of Selectmen recently reduced by half, to $1,000, the amount of the monthly lease payment it would be seeking from a prospective renter.

Gordon appointed to the MRA board
      Shrewsbury - Patrick Gordon of Shrewsbury was recently named to the Massachusetts Restaurant Association's (MRA) board of directors for a three-year term. The MRA was founded in 1934 to promote and represent the restaurant and food service industry.

Historical Society to host Cemetery Walk
      Shrewsbury - The Shrewsbury Historical Society is off ering the unique and entertaining third annual Cemetery Walk Saturday Sept. 8 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. On the guided tour, participants will meet a few of Shrewsbury's early townspeople, with a new set of town notables and characters this year.
