Senior Center celebrates birthdays
     Westborough - At the Westborough Senior Citizens Center monthly birthday party for September, (l to r) Bob Pond and Berji Torres celebrate their birthdays with Berji's husband, Luis Torres. Pond, 91, was the oldest of the several celebrants at the party. The former Marine and longtime Westborough resident keeps active with exercise and Scrabble. Egan goes to Planning Board for 'executive' subdivision
      Westborough - Christopher Egan, owner of Carruth Capital, the real estate development firm that is Westborough's second-largest taxpayer, went to the Planning Board Sept. 25 to begin a discussion of plans for an upscale subdivision on 26 acres he owns off Mt. Pleasant Street.

Flowers celebrate 'Treasures Past and Present'
     Westborough - Visitors to the Westborough Garden Club's 2007 Flower Show, "Westborough's Treasures Past and Present," enjoy some of the horticulture exhibits. They are (l to r) Amy Coombs, president of the Southborough Garden Club, Louise Soomre, of Northborough, and Marsha Weaver, of Westborough. The show was at Tatnuck Bookseller, Gift Gallery and Café Sept. 26 through 28, and featured settings and themes including picnics at Chauncy Lake and dinner with local historical figures, including Eli Whitney and Esther Forbes.

Roche Bros delivery hours amended again
      Westborough - Roche Bros representatives came to the Planning Board Oct. 2 to ask for relief from the reduced delivery hours the board imposed to try to protect area residents from early morning noise.

Exhibit of 'Westborough's Natural Treasures' to run Nov. 11 to 18
      Westborough - Nature photographers of all ages are invited to enter a juried photography contest, "Westborough's Natural Treasures," sponsored by the Westborough Community Land Trust (WCLT).
