On garden design: Focal points from the inside out
Putting down roots
      Late fall into early winter is my favorite time of year to think about garden design. The landscape is simple and clean. After the first hard frost, annuals have usually been removed, perennials cut back, and bulbs safely tucked in for the long cold months ahead. This "inbetween season" is the perfect time to think about adding a focal point to the garden.

      Marlborough - It was like a Publisher's Clearinghouse announcement: the city of Marlborough learned Oct. 30 that the state Department of Revenue's Division of Local Services certified that the city's free cash as of July 1 was more than $5 million, an increase of nearly $2 million over the previous year.
