Rotary Club prepares Thanksgiving baskets
      Marlborough - Marlborough Rotary Club members (l-r) John Moineau and Dave Brower unload turkeys, milk, and other perishable food items Nov. 18 from a truck donated by Mark's Moving and Storage. The items are part of the ingredients that went into 30 Thanksgiving food baskets that would were delivered to needy families in the community.

      Marlborough - The cafeteria tables of Jaworek Elementary School were covered with various evergreen clippings and magnolia leaves Nov. 14 during the monthly Marlborough Colonial Garden Club meeting. The fresh greens were one of the key ingredients used by Garden Club members to construct a Williamsburg Fruit Plaque.

Marlborough zoning rules changed to screen out unpopular businesses
      Marlborough - Marlborough City Councilors passed a measure designed to protect the city against unwanted businesses at a meeting of the Urban Aff airs Committee Nov.19. The measure passed the committee and then was passed by the full council about an hour later.

Governor emphasizes education at Chamber meeting
      Marlborough - Seeming as if he were sitting the living room of a friend, sipping coffee and eating a piece of pumpkin pie, Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick shared a story about the differences between his education and that of his youngest daughter to a crowd of about 200 at the Annual Luncheon Meeting of the Marlborough Regional Chamber of Commerce.
