      Shrewsbury - The Shrewsbury Parks and Recreation Department is now holding registration for winter programs that cater to children, teens, adults and seniors.

Selectmen call current fees unfair
      Shrewsbury - Two members of the Board of Selectmen called the town's current fees for athletics and after-school activities unfair during a fiscal year (FY) 2009 public hearing Dec. 11. Prompted by a question from the audience, Chair Maurice DePalo and Selectman Moira Miller both said they believed the fees unfairly targeted middle school and high school parents.

Amnesty period at Shrewsbury library
      Shrewsbury - Again this year, the Trustees of the Shrewsbury Public Library have approved an amnesty period for the return of materials with fines attached. The "Start the New Year with a Clean Slate" amnesty began Dec. 16 and will run through Wednesday Jan. 2, 2008.

'Mr. Raindrop' visits preschoolers
      Shrewsbury - Siblings Erik, 5, and Annika Bakken, 3, of Shrewsbury get a chance to meet "Mr. Raindrop" during a children's water conservation program held at the Shrewsbury Public Library Dec. 7. Preschoolers had the opportunity to hear stories, work on a craft, and meet Mr. Raindrop.
