Tasting raises funds for scholarships

Hudson - The crowd at the wine- and beer-tasting fund-raiser at the Hudson Elks June 23 include (l to r) Robin Frank, Charlie Bacon and Aline Madden. Proceeds from the event go toward the annual scholarship fund that this year awarded $51,400 to local graduates attending college in the fall. Bacon, who owns Bacon's Wine and Spirits in Hudson, was responsible for soliciting 12 different suppliers who donated their time and alcohol to the event. Elks members, along with Mary's Catering, Hannaford, and Stop and Shop, donated all of the food for the event.
