Golf tournament supports schools, scholarships

Region - Corridor Nine Area Chamber of Commerce held its 21st Annual School/ Business Partnership Golf Tournament June 21 at Juniper Hill Golf Course in Northborough.

The tournament sold out in May with 152 golfers signed up to play. Proceeds raised from this tournament support grants for schools and scholastic awards for graduating high school seniors in Westborough, Northborough, Southborough and Shrewsbury.

Ben Colonero, executive director of the Willows at Westborough, has chaired the tournament for the past eight years and attributes the success to the hardworking golf committee, volunteers and tournament sponsors.

"EMC has participated as the title sponsor for the second year in a row and their loyal support has a major impact on the success of this tournament," Colonero said.

The Bank of America foursome was the first-place winner of the tournament. The foursome included Deborah Larsen, Rob Colanero, John Klaucke and Tom McGregor.
