Patriots honored at Artemas Ward celebration

Shrewsbury - Members of the Massachusetts Society of the Sons of the American Revolution Color Guard listen to remarks during a ceremony honoring General Artemas Ward June 30 at Mountain View Cemetery in Shrewsbury.

The ceremony kicked off a day of celebration in honor of patriots from the Shrewsbury area who served in the American Revolution. Area residents mustered at the cemetery for re-enactments as well as the ceremonial grave marking of the resting place of General Ward. The event continued at the Artemas Ward Museum with presentations, tours, games, demonstrations and refreshments.
