Dorothy L. Porreca

Northborough - Dorothy L. (O'Brien) Porreca, died Sunday, June 24, 2007 following a long illness. She was the widow of ATF Special Agent Roland Porreca, who died in 1972.

She leaves her children, Michael Porreca, Patricia Mansilla, Richard Porreca and Christopher Porreca; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, the daughter of John and Lorraine (Higgins) O'Brien, she moved to Northborough in 1967.

Mrs. Porreca worked at DEC in Northborough for 15 years and also worked as an artist. She served as the New England Regional Coordinator for the Girl Scouts and was involved with the Boy Scouts, as well. In addition, she served as president of the Northborough Garden Club, the Northborough Women's Club and the Altar Society at Saint Rose of Lima Church. She also volunteered at Hahnemann Hospital.

A private family mass was held at Saint Rose of Lima Church, with burial at Howard Street Cemetery. Hays Funeral Home of Northborough directed arrangements. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to Christopher Porreca, 150 Cypress Run Dr., Brunswick, GA 31520.
