Carrie Ellen Allan, 93

Hudson - Carrie Ellen (Gray) Allan, 93, died Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at UMass Memorial Healthcare in Worcester. She was the wife of the late Alfred Allen, who died in 1963.

She is survived by several cousins from New Brunswick, Canada and Maine. She is also survived by her devoted church family at the Seventh-day Adventist Church and the many friends she loved in the Hudson area.

Born in Portage Lake, Canada, the daughter of William and Lillian (Gesner) Gray, she resided in Canada before moving to Hudson in 1965.

Mrs. Allan worked as an assembler for the former Digital Equipment Corp. of Maynard, retiring in 1980. She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Hudson and of the Hudson Senior Citizens Center and was a Friendly Visitor, visiting several nursing homes in the area for some 14 years for the Hudson Senior Center.

She was a charter member and First Worthy Mistress of Grand Lake Lodge, L.O.B.A. #1239, The Range, New Brunswick, Canada; charter member and past president of Ladies Auxiliary, Chipman Branch #74, Royal Canadian Legion, Chipman, New Brunswick, Canada; and charter member and past president of Coal Creek Women's Institute, Coal Creek, New Brunswick, Canada.

Funeral services were held July 2 from the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home of Hudson, with burial at Forestvale Cemetery.
