Travis J. DeSimone, 17

Marlborough - Travis J. DeSimone, 17, died suddenly Tuesday, July 3, 2007 in Marlborough, N.H. as the result of a tragic accident.

He leaves behind his heartbroken parents, Mark and Jessica (Boulanger) DeSimone; his brothers, Evan and Colin DeSimone; his paternal grandparents, James DeSimone and Leila DeSimone; his maternal grandparents, Arthur and Claire Boulanger; and aunts, uncles and cousins in the U.S. and in Finland.

Born in Lowell, he was a member of the Class of 2008 at Marlborough High School. He played baritone in the high school's marching band, the concert band and the wind ensemble. He was also a past member of the high school track team.

His love of the outdoors brought him to Aava Camp Finland near Helsinki, Finland, where he experienced one of his most cherished memories. He was an avid video game player and was part of a close group of friends.

Funeral services were held July 7 from Grace Baptist Church in Hudson, with private burial held at a later date at Evergreen Cemetery of Marlborough. The John P. Rowe Funeral Home of Marlborough directed arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to Marlborough High School - MPSMA, P.O. Box 200, Marlborough, MA 01752 to buy new instruments for the high school's wind ensemble.
