Marie B. LaPorte, 83

Marlborough - Marie B. (Bryson) LaPorte, 83, died at home Friday, July 6, 2007, surrounded by her family, after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Louis LaPorte, who died in 2005.

She leaves her daughter, Patricia Zilembo and her husband, Dennis, with whom she lived; her grandchildren, Colleen Koroski and Dennis "Buck" Zilembo Jr.; her great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Koroski and Evan Koroski; and her ever-faithful companion, Shag.

Born in Rusiagornis, New Brunswick, Canada, she was raised by Raymond and Vie Rand of Wells, Maine. She graduated from the former Girls High School of Boston in 1944 and from the former Household Nursing Association School of Attendant Nursing in 1946.

After graduation, Mrs. LaPorte was employed as an LPN at Marlborough Hospital, where she worked for the next 30 years. She also found the love of her life when she first started working at the hospital, and she and Louis were married for over 59 years.

She was a member of the Massachusetts Nurses Association and the Marlborough Seniors. She enjoyed traveling with her friends and her family and loved to knit.

Funeral services were held July 8 from the John P. Rowe Funeral Home of Marlborough, with burial at a later date in Evergreen Cemetery of Marlborough. Memorial donations may be made to the Cellucci Boys & Girls Club of Hudson, 21 Church St., Hudson, MA 01749.

Dorothy M. Landry, 84

Marlborough - Dorothy M. (Gibson) Landry, 84, died at home Wednesday, July 4, 2007 after being stricken ill. She was the wife of the late Alvin Landry, who died in 1994.

She leaves her sons, Brian Landry and his wife, Constance, and Allen Landry and his wife, Gail; her daughter, Lorraine Landry; her siblings, Carl Gibson, Charlotte Paine and Evelyn McCaff ery; her brother-in-law, Guy Landry; and her grandchildren, Matthew Landry, Jennifer Landry, Jessica Landry, Nathan Landry and Elizabeth Landry.

Born in Natick, the daughter of Carl and Charlotte (Rice) Gibson, she was a 1940 graduate of Natick High School and had lived in Marlborough for over 50 years.

Mrs. Landry retired in 1988 after 25 years as an assembler and inspector for the Raytheon Corp. of Sudbury and later Marlborough.

She was a member of the New Hope Chapel of Westborough, where the youth chorus all called her "Nana," and a member of the Marlborough Seniors. She will be missed by all her neighbors.

Funeral services were held July 10 from the John P. Rowe Funeral Home of Marlborough, with burial at Dell Park Cemetery in Natick. Memorial donations may be made to the New Hope Chapel Fund, 30 Milk St., Westborough, MA 01581.
