Leo A. Dumas, 82 Shrewsbury - Leo Albert Dumas, 82, died Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at the Saint Vincent's Hospital in Worcester. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 57 years, Doris Theresa (Garganigo) Dumas. He leaves his loving daughters, Cathy Collins and her husband, Daniel; Joan Bonaccorso and her husband, John; Judy Jarvis and her husband, Tony; and Karen Dumas. He also leaves his sisters, Madeleine Corwin, Pauline Rourke, Cecile Wilhelmi and Marcelle Carter; his sister-in-law, Shirley Frongillo; his grandchildren, Shannon Collins, Michael Collins, James Collins, Matthew Bonaccorso, Lindsay Bonaccorso, Brian Jarvis and Daniel Jarvis; his great-grandson, William Ryan; and nieces and nephews. Born in Natick, the son of Arthur and Gabrielle (LeCalve) Dumas, he was a resident of Shrewsbury for most of his life. He served in the Pacific as a sergeant with the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. Mr. Dumas was employed as an investigator with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles from 1964 until his retirement in 1988. He was a 50-year member of the Knights of Columbus Adelphi Council #4181. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking, fishing, boating and, most of all, the time spent on Cape Cod with his family. Funeral services were held July 9 the Britton- Shrewsbury Funeral Home, with burial at Mountain View Cemetery.
