Frances A. Laverty, 85

Northborough - Frances A. (Kelly) Laverty, 85, died Wednesday, July 4, 2007 at the Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Facility of Northborough following a short illness.

She leaves her devoted husband, Paul Laverty, with whom she recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary; her son, Joseph Laverty; and her daughter, Mary Spears and her husband, Arthur. She was also the loving Nana of Thomas, Jamie and Brian Spears.

Born and raised in Worcester, the daughter of John and Annie (McDonnell) Kelly, she was a 1940 graduate of St. Peter's High School.

Mrs. Laverty worked as a telephone operator for New England Telephone Co. in Worcester for many years. She later worked at Rutland State Hospital for many years upon her retirement. A loving wife, mother and Nana, she will be missed by all.

A funeral mass was held July 7 from Saint Rose of Lima Church in Northborough, with burial at Rural Cemetery in Rutland. Hays Funeral Home of Northborough directed arrangements.
