Students receive U.S. flag flown in Iraq
Marlborough - Students at the Immaculate Conception Extended Day Program in Marlborough recently sent cards that they made to LN2 Shannon Banks, a legalman in the U.S. Navy serving in Iraq and a former Marlborough resident. She is also the niece of Linda Causey, a staff member of the program.

The students thought is would be nice to let her know that they were thinking of her and that they wished her a safe return.

In appreciation for their thoughtfulness and kind words of encouragement, on May 1, Banks had a U.S. flag flown over the American Embassy in Baghdad, then sent the flag to the students. A special ceremony was held for the Extended Day students, with a presentation of the flag and a plaque, which are currently on display at the Immaculate Conception School.
