Special race raises funds for Special Olympics
      Shrewsbury - Men's winner Tim Guerin (16:13) of Auburn holds his trophy July 21 after the second annual Special 5K Road Race in Shrewsbury. All proceeds from the event, which started and ended at the Floral Street School, went to benefit the town's Special Olympics program.

Fund-raiser for Nate to be held at SAC Park

      Shrewsbury - Nate Grenache was a happy, healthy 2-year-old boy before his life changed in October 2006. Without warning, Nate suffered from a ruptured vessel in his brain, causing four massive strokes and requiring constant medical care from family and other health care providers.

      Shrewsbury - Devangi Yadav performs a dance from India July 17 at the Shrewsbury Public Library's Tuesday Night Talent Show. The audience enjoyed a 45-minute performance including pianists, vocalists, magicians, comedians and dancers.
