'Spoon Man' entertains in Marlborough
By Angela Greiner Contributing Writer

(l to r) Amarilo Santana, Christopher Didonata, Jim Cruise as the "Spoon Man" and Olivia Trudeau enjoy themselves at the Spoon Man's appearance July 28.
Marlborough - The "Spoon Man" captivated the attention of both children and adults at a 45-minute performance July 28 hosted by the Marlborough Public Library. Jim Cruise is a musical comedian who has performed for audiences internationally.

Cruise explained to children in the audience that he began playing spoons in the third grade when he did not get a drum set. A Michigan native taught to play by his grandfather, Cruise has now been playing spoons professionally for 20 years.

His interactive act brought children and adult volunteers to the stage to participate and perform in a bluegrass number.

The show also included educational messages for children to stay away from drugs, listen to parents and get an education.
