Eileen M. Mitchell, 46

Worcester - Eileen M. Mitchell, 46, formerly of Westborough, died Saturday, July 28, 2007, surrounded by her loving family, at the home of her sister, Paula, in Boylston.

She leaves her mother, Kathleen "Kay" (Lynch) Mitchell, and her siblings, Maureen Mitchell Ravenelle and her husband, Rene Ravenelle; Paula Markle and her husband, David; Kathleen Mitchell; Christine Gaff ney and her husband, Stephen; and Paul Mitchell. She was the devoted aunt of Julie Mitchell, Laura and Brian Markle, Ashley and Megan Ravenelle, and Daniel, Sean and Erin Gaffney, and also leaves aunts, uncles and cousins.

Born in Framingham, the daughter of Kathleen Mitchell and the late Paul Mitchell, she graduated from Westborough High School in 1978 and earned her bachelor's degree from Worcester State College and a master of Psychology degree from Anna Maria College.

Ms. Mitchell was employed as an outpatient clinician at Community Health Link and at Spectrum Health Services, both in Worcester.

She was a member of the Worcester Volleyball League and taught English to Vietnamese residents. Her love of family and friends, her will to live and her sense of humor sustained her throughout her courageous 23- year battle with cancer.

A funeral mass was celebrated Aug. 1 from St. Luke the Evangelist Church of Westborough, with burial at St. Luke's Cemetery. The Rand-Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home directed arrangements.
