It's a long shot
Marlborough - With the recent voter approval of a casino in Middleboro, the flood gates appear to be opening for similar proposals throughout the state. Wealthy casino developer Sheldon Adelson has expressed interest in the Marlborough area as a potential site. Although the prospect will cause a great deal of speculation, the fact is that several substantial hurdles would need to be passed before such a plan could move forward, not the least of which would be gaining the support of traditional gambling opponents like House Speaker Sal DiMasi.
