Robert Bosworth Percy, 81
He leaves his daughters, Elizabeth Percy and Caroline Percy Marcoux and her husband, Roger; his son, Robert Percy III and his wife, Mary Godbout Percy; his sister, Mary Percy Vaughan; his grandchildren, David Percy, Robert Percy IV and Rachel Percy; and nieces and nephews. Born in Brookline, he lived 18 years in Westborough, nine years in Worcester and the past 43 years in Northborough. He attended Westborough schools through the 8th grade, then graduated in 1944 from Phillips Academy in Andover and from Yale University 1949, with a degree in Government. He served in World War II as a corporal in the U.S. Army Air Corps and was stationed in Central America. Mr. Percy was an investment broker at Paine Webber in Worcester for 41 years, retiring in 2002. He was a member of the American Legion Picard Post # 234 in Northborough; a member of the First Unitarian Church in Worcester; a past President and founding member of the Kiwanis Club in Northborough; a member of the NRA; a Corporator of the Westborough Savings Bank; and a member of the Charter Commission in Northborough. Mr. Percy loved nature and was an avid reader, especially about World War II. He also enjoyed painting landscapes and taking photographs as a hobby. He spent his summers from childhood until his passing in Small Point, Maine at the family property. Graveside services were held Aug. 13 from Maplewood Cemetery in Upton. The Britton- Summers Funeral Home of Westborough directed arrangements.
