Donald L. Temple, 88

Westborough - Donald L. Temple, 88, died at home Monday, Aug. 6, 2007. He was the husband of the late Barbara (McDiarmid) Temple.

He leaves his daughters, Elaine Coughlin; Barbara Lytle and her husband, David; Donna White and her husband, Stephen; Denise Paige; and Doreen Higgins. He also leaves 16 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Dianne Engelhardt-Noel and greatgrandfather of the late Matthew Engelhardt.

Born in Westborough, the son of Walter and Hattie (Walker) Temple, he was educated in Westborough schools.

Mr. Temple was employed in the research and development department at Bay State Abrasives, retiring in 1984.

He was a communicant of St. Matthew's Church in Southborough and a former member of the Knights of Columbus and the New England Country Music Association. An avid golfer, he enjoyed candle pin bowling, gardening and traveling.

A funeral mass was held Aug. 10 from St. Matthew's Church, with burial at Pine Grove Cemetery, Westborough. The Rand- Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home directed arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
