Randolph D. Anderson, 85 Northborough - Randolph D. Anderson, 85, formerly of Westborough, died Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2007 at the Beaumont of Westborough Nursing Home after a long period of failing health. He leaves his wife of 60 years, Lorna (Greenhalge) Anderson; his sons, Scott Anderson and Gary Anderson; and nieces and nephews. Born in Worcester, the son of David and Florence (Hagerstrom) Anderson, he lived in Northborough for the past three years. He had lived in Westborough for 30 years before moving to Northborough. Mr. Anderson was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. During his service, he was captured by Axis forces and survived as a prisoner of war for a year before being liberated by Allied forces. He was employed as an engineer for many companies in Massachusetts, including the Norton Corp. of Worcester, Washington Mills in North Grafton and American Abrasives in Westfield. He was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Westborough, a past president and longtime member of the Manchaug Pond Association, and a member of the 398 Bomb Group Memorial Association. A memorial service was held Aug. 25 from the First United Methodist Church of Westborough, with private burial. The Rand-Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home directed arrangements.
